Google Core Web Vitals Update and New Search Console Report

Last Updated on20 November 2023
Digital Marketing SEO

Google’s Core Web Vitals update was supposed to be released in May, however, it has now been rescheduled for Mid-June. Therefore, this giving users more title to focus on improving and optimizing their web usability and page speed before the algorithms full roll out by the end of August.

We’ll begin using page experience as part of our ranking systems beginning in mid-June 2021. However, page experience won’t play its full role as part of those systems until the end of August.

When Google released this news about the rescheduling of the algorithm they also released a brand new Page experience on Mobile report in Google Search Console to help SEOs, Web Developers and Webmasters to see how well their website is user friendly.

The report shows you the percentage of URLs on your website that has a good page experience and also shows you the current issues that should be fixed prior to the Google algorithm release in June.

According to Google Search Central the report now includes a wide range of data including: Core Web Vitals metrics, Mobile Usability, Ad Experience and some existing search signals which include; Mobile Usability and HTTPS.

The best free tools that I have found to check your Core Web Vitals is either: Google PageSpeed Insights, Google Lighthouse (which is available through Chrome browser) or a new tool I recently found which was Web.Dev which is another Google tool and is available on their website.

These tools which enable you to successfully see where you can improve your sites for the Google algorithm.
