# What is Ahrefs Webmaster Tools?

The Ahrefs Webmaster Tools platform was released last year and is a fantastic free version of the Ahrefs platform which allows you to scan your website and track some SEO metrics. Let’s explore the platform!

 

## Website Setup

 

Ahrefs Webmaster Tools allows you to either connect your website through Google Search Console or through verification through DNS settings, HTML tags or a HTML file. This enables you to easily add your website to the platform. However, the only issue with this is that you must have ownership of the website to add it to the Webmaster Tools platform so you cannot get the platform to analyse your competitors – unless you pay for the premium Ahrefs software.

 

## Site Explorer

 

The site explorer allows you to see a wide range of data including your Ahrefs Rank, URL Rating and Domain Rating. You can also see the number of backlinks you have from other websites.

## Site Audit
